Online Auction

What a fantastic result!

When it became apparent that the pandemic was going to stick around for some-time, the OSA decided to run our first ever online Auction.

Once we had decided on a hosting company, it was a case of relying on the generosity of parents and friends to donate enough prizes of enough value to make it fun, to engage with as many parents and friends as possible and to raise a good amount of money for the School.

It looked at one stage as if we would not have enough items as it took a while for them to come in. However, we gained some momentum and the final count was just below 200 lots! The donated items could not have been more varied, and some of them were of very high value. This was a huge achievement in itself.

Items were added to the site after the Auction had started, giving potential bidders reason to revisit the site. The excitement level rose as we approached the end of the Auction with plenty of late bids coming in.

We would like to offer our huge thanks to everyone who donated items - we just couldn’t have run the Auction without your generosity. Huge thanks also to those of you who bid and/or made a cash donation (on which we are able to claim Gift Aid).

There was plenty of work that went on behind the scenes from OSA Committee members and special thanks to Tricia Doyle for offering so much of her time and for all of her help, which was a lot more than expected!

Together with the help of our precious Match Funders – Raman Subberwal, Sonal Shah, Katia Levy-Thevenon, Raph Nelson, Stepan Mankovskyi, Zafar Aziz, Baljit Rai and Mark Glover, the Auction raised in excess of:

£17,800 for Dame Alice Owen’s School

Based on its’ success, we plan to run this event on an annual basis in the lead up to Christmas, so please do get involved again. As well as it being great fun, you will be helping us to raise even more funds for the School.

Thank you, as ever, for your continued support.
